Executive Board Member, Developments in Literacy (DIL), California
Sara Abbasi serves on the executive board of Developments in Literacy (DIL) – a US based non-profit organization established to promote female literacy in the remote, underdeveloped areas of Pakistan and launched the San Francisco chapter of DIL in 2001. Abbasi and her husband endowed The Abbasi Program in Islamic Studies at Stanford University in 2003.
Hisham Alireza

Hisham Alireza is a retired businessman from Saudi Arabia and one of the founders and Executive Director of Xenel Industries Ltd., which was formed in Jeddah Saudi Arabia in the 70s. As a philanthropist, he has supported many initiatives supporting education and cultural understanding, including the Book Foundation (BF), an organization responsible for promoting better understanding between the east and west, promotion of Islamic Art, philosophy and the development of a universal curriculum intended to integrate man’s understanding of God, the universe and his own nature.

Emiko Higashi

Emiko Higashi, a native of Japan, is a founder of Tomon Partners, LLC, an M&A advisory firm. Prior to Tomon Partners, she was a co-founder and CEO of Gilo Ventures from 2000 to 2002. Higashi also spent 15 years as an M&A investment banker at Lehman Brothers, Wasserstein Perella, and Merrill Lynch where she was a managing director. Prior to her investment banking career, she spent two years as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. in Tokyo, Japan. Higashi has served on multiple corporate boards, and is currently on the boards of One Nation and BUILD, a non-profit organization based in the U.S.

George F. Russell, Jr., built Frank Russell Company from one part-time secretary in 1958 to become one of the world’s leading investment advisory firms. Russell served as chairman from 1958 until the firm was sold to Northwestern Mutual Life in 1999. Today, the company guides 1,100 clients in 35 countries with assets exceeding more than $1.8 trillion, and manages $130 billion in funds. One Nation is the brainchild of Mr. Russell.
Rahim Sabadia

Rahim Sabadia founded Sabtech Industries, Incorporated, in 1984. In two decades, Sabtech has grown to become a globally respected manufacturer of military communication products and services. Sabadia is also president of the Sabadia Family Foundation, a privately controlled public services charitable organization that supports humanitarian, human rights and educational initiatives.
Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

In 1977, Hamza Yusuf became Muslim and subsequently traveled to the Muslim world and studied for ten years in the U. A. E., Saudi Arabia, as well as North and West Africa. After ten years of studies abroad, he returned to the USA and took degrees in Religious Studies and Health Care. He founded Zaytuna Institute, which has established an international reputation for presenting a classical picture of Islam in the West and which is dedicated to the revival of traditional study methods and the sciences of Islam.
