Film Contest Deadline Extended Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Joins |
|
Link TV—the nationwide television channel featuring global perspectives on news, events and culture—has partnered with One Nation to develop the “One Nation, Many Voices” online film contest.
The entries must explore some aspect of life relating to the American Muslim experience, and they can range from something as mundane as getting through breakfast without bacon (pork is prohibited in Islam) to something as thought-provoking as being a feminist who wears a headscarf. Everyone in the U.S. is invited to compete, regardless of religion.
The contest will feature online voting, and the winners will be decided by a panel of celebrity judges, including: basketball star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, actor Danny Glover, Mariane Pearl (recently depicted by Angelina Jolie in the film “A Mighty Heart”), and comedian Azhar Usman (star of the “Allah Made Me Funny” comedy tour) among others.
The grand prize winner will receive a $20,000 cash prize and a filmmaker debut on LinkTV.
The deadline for submission has been extended until December 31, 2007. Find out how to submit a film at www.onenationfilmcontest.org.
