What's New in the American Muslim Community

New Report on Improving U.S.-Muslim Relations

A new report on improving relations between the United States and Muslim countries has been released today. The report, "Changing Course: A New Direction for U.S. Relations with the Muslim World," is the result of two years of research and discussion among a bipartisan group of experts, including Madeline Albright, former U.S. Secretary of State, Ingrid Mattson, President of the Islamic Society of North America, and Steve Bartlett, a former Republican congressman.

Thirty-four opinion leaders from fields including foreign policy, religion, education, psychology, philanthropy, and conflict resolution came together to make these policy recommendations. Carefully considering the views and values of citizens in both the U.S. and Muslim nations, the report puts forward recommendations for improving relations and reducing tensions between the United States and Muslim countries.

The U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project is a bipartisan endeavor that uses policy recommendations to advocate for improved U.S. policies toward Muslim nations. The project is the only organization with a stated mission to improve relations between the U.S. and Muslim countries.
