2008 Film Contest Grand Prize Finalist: Can You Hear Me?

A native of southern California, Murad Aldin Amayreh is a CSULA film school graduate and Muslim American filmmaker. "Can You Hear Me?" was a finalist for the 60-second spot category.

Murad's first documentary film "Last Refuge" explored the issue of detainment of Muslim leaders in the years following the September 11th attacks. This film won best documentary at the Golden Eagle Film Festival in Los Angeles.

The film is about two children from different backgrounds who struggle to escape their prisons. They discover one another and learn that despite their differences they have a common goal. This is a shortened version of the video. It had to be slightly cut down to meet the 5 minute time limit for this contest. To see the full version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhgYx33JAbU
